Exomotive took the wraps off their new Exo-prototype: The Exovette. You’ve guessed it, C5 guts for an Exo car.
I think one of the important things that people often don’t realize about Exomotive cars (versus deathcarts) is that these things are actually engineered - not just backyard slapdash with the wrong angles and wrong pipe. You can really see it in the rear end with gas tank protection (one of the knocks on the Exocet) and everything.

I may have to do that. Like I was planning on doing an 818 in a few years. Now I don't care. I want that!

Seriously, if I had any chance of being able to afford that, I’d have to have one.

I can’t imagine that radiator living a long lif e . One rock at speed & it’s done for. Hope they’re not running antifreeze when on track so it’s not too big of a mess when it eventually lets go.

Okay, I’ll be entirely honest with you - if I did it again, I wouldn’t use a donor. Yes, you can be ultra cheap if you use a donor, but if you start replacing things like bushings or wheels or tie rods or wiring or ecu or exhaust or any combination of other donor items, you’re probably going to be best off just buying the good parts from the start and foregoing the donor.

If it’s in the way and you want to ship that to my house, I’ll pay the shipping.

Can I think of this as more or less a C5-based Ariel Atom?

With more predictable handling, probably, yes.

It’s known for being very twitchy and kind of unpredictable at 10/10ths.

He’s not exactly the pinnacle of journalism, but Matt Farah referenced that in his Exocet review.
